Dr. Serdar Sümer
Chairman of the Board
Born in 1973, Serdar Sümer is a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Business Administration Department. Having completed his MBA at The College of William and Mary in Virginia, USA, Sümer completed his doctorate in banking at Marmara University Banking and Insurance Institute in April 2011. Holding Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Certified Public Accountant certifications, Sümer began his career as a Sworn Bank Auditor in 1996. Between 2008 and 2014, he served as Assistant General Manager for Subsidiary Management and Capital Markets at Aktif Bank. Having rejoined Aktif Bank as General Manager in 2015, Sümer continued in General Manager and Board Member roles until the end of 2020. As of 2021, he continues to serve as a Board Member at Aktif Bank.

Born in Istanbul in 1970, Adnan Akan graduated from Sankt Georg Austrian High School in 1989 and from Boğaziçi University Business Administration Department in 1993. He worked at PwC Audit and Advisory between 1993 and 2023, and was admitted to partnership in 2002. Within PwC, he served as country leader for the Consumer Products Sector, German desk leader, and between 2012 and 2021 as Country Managing Partner for Audit and Risk Services, and served on the PwC Turkey, PwC Europe and PwC Global Boards. He has specialised in IFRS, International Auditing Standards and Capital Markets Board regulations. He holds SMMM, Public Oversight Authority and Treasury Independent Audit licences.
